How do the Luxuel laser caps work?

The Laser Cap 272 contains 272 true 650nm laser diodes embedded in the inner dome. When worn, these diodes deliver low-level laser light directly to your scalp - a technique called photobiomodulation (LLLT). You wear it hands-free while the controller manages the session timer, powered from the mains over USB. Both caps are FDA 510(k) cleared under K261253 for laser hair growth stimulation.

Does low-level laser therapy actually work for hair loss?

There is substantial published research supporting LLLT for androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). The 650nm wavelength used in both Luxuel caps is the most widely studied wavelength in the LLLT hair growth literature. Results vary by individual and depend on consistency of use - this is a clinically studied tool for stimulating follicle activity, not a cure.

Is it laser or LED?

Laser. Both Luxuel caps use true 650nm laser diodes - not LEDs, and every diode in the headline count is a laser. Laser diodes produce coherent, focused light at a precise wavelength, which is what the peer-reviewed LLLT clinical studies have tested. Most budget devices use LEDs; Luxuel uses laser diode technology used in FDA-cleared devices, at a fraction of the price.

How are the Luxuel laser caps manufactured?

The Luxuel laser caps are made for Luxuel by a specialized contract manufacturer. We publish the device specifications, FDA 510(k) clearance number K261253, warranty, returns, and current fulfilment terms so you can inspect the product on its own facts. We do not present contract manufacturing as in-house engineering, and we do not claim that manufacturing location determines device quality.

How often should I use it?

One 30-minute session, 2–3 times per week on non-consecutive days. The built-in timer ends each session automatically. Consistency over weeks and months matters far more than any single session.

When will I see results?

Published LLLT trials measured results over months. Those studies were not clinical trials of Luxuel products. Individual results vary. Read the evidence and realistic timeline.

Is it FDA cleared?

Yes. The Laser Cap 272 is FDA 510(k) cleared under clearance number K261253 (product code OAP) for laser hair growth stimulation. This is the same regulatory pathway used by Capillus and other leading laser hair devices. Cleared is not the same as approved - see /pages/what-fda-510k-cleared-means.

Is it safe?

Low-level laser therapy has a well-documented safety profile in published research. Not for use during pregnancy, by children, or by people with heart disease or a history of brain surgery. If you have a scalp or skin condition or take photosensitizing medication, consult your healthcare provider before use. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Will it fit my head?

The Laser Cap 272 comes in two sizes. Standard fits a head circumference of 53–58 cm (20.9–22.8 in), and Large fits 58–63 cm (22.8–24.8 in). To measure, wrap a soft tape around your head about a finger's width above your eyebrows and ears, where a cap sits, then choose the matching size when you order.

How does the controller work?

The compact controller connects to the cap via cable and manages your session timer. It is powered from the mains over USB, so the cap stays plugged in during the session. Press the power button to start, and it ends the session automatically when the time is up. No app required.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days after payment is confirmed. US delivery takes 7–12 business days after processing. US shipping is free, and we currently ship only to the United States. The Laser Cap 272 ships direct from the manufacturer's existing stock. Tracking is emailed when your cap ships.

What's your return policy?

Returns are accepted on unused, unopened devices within 30 days of delivery, and every cap is covered by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects running from delivery. Every order is also covered by the Fulfilment Guarantee: if the order cannot be fulfilled, it is refunded in full.

How much do the Luxuel laser caps cost?
